On Sunday, March 5, Bridgeview Football Academy and the Veterans Sports Association hosted the Rafael Sarumov Memorial, a midfielder known for his performances for Shakhtar (Karaganda, Kazakhstan) in the 1960s.
The wonderful day included many beautiful moments on the soccer field, enjoyable interaction with representatives of the Kazakh community in New York, joint viewing of a documentary dedicated to Rafael Sarumov, and fundraising for the families of Kazakhstan veterans of soccer. The Rafael Sarumov Foundation will send all the money raised directly to the families of Kazakhstan’s soccer veterans.
Special guest of the tournament – Kairat Aubakirov, former player of the national team of Kazakhstan, three-time National Champion, winner of the National Cup, former assistant coach of the youth soccer team of Kazakhstan.
